Here is where you will find tributes to the pets we no longer have. They may not be with us physically anymore but their memories live forever. Please contact us if your dog has passed and would like an entry here.
We Hope the following poem will help:-
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies who has been especially close to someone here that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of day and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
Molly and Sheba (Lucy)
Breed: Collie and Collie Cross
Ten years ago in October 2009 we visited Save Our Strays after we had lost our beloved collie cross, Sally. We met two shy, nervous girls: Molly (collie, 8 years old) and Sheba (collie cross, 6 years old). They had been sent to Save Our Strays to be rehomed due to sad circumstances in their previous home. We were happy to keep both dogs and despite their ages they gave us the loyalty, companionship and fun we were looking for in our new canine friends.
Molly was energetic despite her age and lived a full life for seven years with us until she sadly became ill and we lost her to cancer at the age of 15 in 2016. Following Molly’s death, Sheba (who we renamed Lucy) lived on for a further 3 years until we had to say goodbye to our beloved girl. She was 16.
We are grateful to Save Our Strays for giving us the opportunity to rehome Molly and Lucy and, although they were older dogs, they still had plenty of life in them to enjoy their lives with us for many years.
